There is this agency Recruit S******* located at Shaw House that got me a job for 3 days. In the contract, it states that I’ll be paid on the 25th of the month. I ended work on 13th Aug. So I sent in my timesheet by snail mail. No matter how slow it is…I’m sure it will reach before the 25th of Aug, giving them plenty of time to process.
Come 25th, I checked my account, no money was credited. I waited for another 2 days, still no sign on money and nobody from the agency called me, not even the agent who found me the job. I rang them up this morning and looked for the agent and I was then passed on to the accounts department. So why didn’t I get my pay?
Apparently it was because I sent it in my snail mail instead of faxing it to them. And since I snail mail them and they didn’t get it in time (read: they didn’t checked their letter box or something) and so I didn’t get my pay. But the thing is nobody say specifically I have to fax it in! And I know from experience with other agency that as long as my timesheet reach them before payroll processing date, it’s perfectly OK. Now the ridiculous thing is, NOBODY called to ask for my timesheet when they are processing payroll on 25th. I mean don’t tell me they didn’t know my timesheet was not in. And then NOBODY called to inform me that my pay will be delayed after they receive my timesheet by the v-slow snail mail that it takes more than 11 days (can send to North Pole).
I was damn pissed but still nice enough say ok when they say I’ll get it on the 25th of next month! And when I asked if I’ll be given a pay slip, the answer is no, coz I’m a temp. Hello!?? Temp staff doesn’t need pay slip huh…then how I know how my pay is calculated! I think I should learn to be more aggressive and give these people a good lashing if such stuff happens to me again.
