Bah... though I believe grades does not count for everything in the working world but still I think I have to get at least 2nd lower if not a 2nd upper as it helps in ensuring that my application form does not get chuck into the bin during the very first selection of the company. Though my grades are nothing fantastic but they are not rock-bottom low either... usually a B but an occasional C / D is enough to override all the other Bs and pull down the gpa by alot and I mean alot. The fact that half the class are the smart-ass prc scholars certainly doesn't help much. Something which I feel I can score an B might eventually be pulled down to a C+ because the rest are just too good. So ya.. not rock-bottom grades but I think I might be near the bottom in ranking. My goodness... I can imagine.

I'm still uncertain as to which area I want to go into. I had several options to consider...

1) Directly choose an area which I am interested and build up my experience from there.

2) Land myself a management trainee position for 2 years, proceed to be a shipping executive for another 2 years and then from there choose an area of specialization.

The risks of option 1 is that I do not know what each sector is really like so I might end up wasting time hopping here and there to find what I like.

As for option 2, it is better as I get to see the big picture and possibly rotate around the departments of a company but I might end up being a 'jack of all trades, master of none'. And 4 years is alot of time esp for someone who knows what they want to specialize in and they can use this 4 years to build up all the contacts and experience.

Dilemna. Even if I choose option 1.. I still have to decide on the area.

Why do some people know exactly what they want yet there are other who are equally lost?
