At 8.20am this morning my hp rang....
Caller: Hello, I'm calling from Mrs XX's office. You're attending the launch of the center today right?
Me: Yes, that's right.
Caller: Oh... we're over-subscribed you see. So erh... if you're not too keen or not too free you can don't attend.
Me: Over-subscribed?!?! (surprised and boiling at the same time)
Caller: Ya.. so if you're not too keen I can make a note that you're not coming.
Me: But I'm already on the way... about to reach school.
Caller: Oh... so means you're still attending la...
Mr. Hon Gen, you're so going to be DEAD. Don't let me see you before this is erased from my memory. I'll make sure I blast your ear drums. I agreed to attend this launch in the first place just not to make life difficult for you and yesterday I was getting sick since yesterday and had even thought of not going but then responsibility got better of me and I still go and this is what I get when I traveled all the way to school just to travel back. I was still squeaking away like a mouse yesterday and was eating lots of Nin Jiom Herbal Candy thought it taste horrible just to get my voice back.
I am not so mad at the Hon Gen as I am with the school administration. I don't know what that office is doing...
1) Didn't you know the event was over-subscribed by last Friday?? You don't go around calling people just 40 mins before the event was suppose to start to tell people not to go in a 'oh-so-subtle' manner.
2) You don't ask for representatives from our side and then kick us away when you manage to get enough people to attend. What do you take us for? Just a few redundant people to fill the seats to ensure that the school will have the 'face' coz there are 'oh-so-many' students who are interested?
I got sicker along the way to school… sneezing and sneezing and when I finally reach home from my futile trip to school… I was officially very sick. After the entire in bed and 2 flu tablets I'm still sneezing and still fuming inside.
If not for the fact that I was feeling very unwell in the first place I would not have called back and agreed not to attend when I'm like 5 mins away from the sch compound.
