My first week of internship at EM flew past just like that! Exactly 1 week since I last updated. So how's my first week? Good. In fact too good! It was so good that I'm feeling alittle scared. I don't feel like I was there to work. More like to EAT! I've done alot of eating last week and besides that I've done alot of readings (yah reading! like sch -_-") and also attend meetings! It was realli a torture to sit for 3hrs meeting everyday and only be able to understand 20% of what was going on. Feel so weird and so dumb. I did tell my i/c that I can actually understand only 20% and he said it is ok. As time pass I'll be able to relate to what they are talking about. I certainly hope so. Their allowance for an intern is pretty good comparing to other companies I feel bad for not doing work and also worry that I can't meet their expectation. I'm the kind where I take your $ I must do work..even if is do admin. At least justify why I'm being paid right?

Out of the 5 days of work I've only paid for 1 lunch. The rest is all company pay. Coz there are a few overseas collegues over for a meeting then I tagged along and so whever they eat I eat too. One day was packed lunch of Subway over meeting, another was nasi padang, then there is chicken rich and also buffet at M Hotel. I'm enjoying life right? Yes I know. I'll balloon in size soon. Don't remind me. I think it is only the first week la hor. Next week my i/c outstaion for like 2 weeks I think. Haiz... Do I have to do more readings??!! I don't realli dare to go ask my other collegues to teach me what they are doing coz they are so busy! They are in office before me and when I leave they are still there! If not for the different sets of clothes they wear I might think they have never left their desk. That's the sad thing of work. But then they seems to be very enthu abt their work. Maybe its because of the good staff welfare. It will boost up morale, at least employees will feel better when they slog their guts out for the company.

The tiring thing about work is actually not so much of the work done in office. It is more of the travelling to and fro. It is a good 1hr mrt ride each way for me and the mad morning rush is really not a good way to start your day. Everyone start they day by doing 100m sprint for their bus or mrt. The speed the office crowd walk actually gave me a shock on my first day. It seems like I'll soon be crush under their feets if I don't weave in and out with skill. But after 1 week, I'm now a pro just like them, weave in and out of the crowd, walk at lightning speed w/o panting. If finances allow in future when I officially step into society, I'll want to take a cab, esp on the journey home. Imagine after a long day of work still must jostle with ppl on the train.

Hope my workstation, staff pass will be ready next week. I've been sitting at diff ppl's desk the past week. And hope I can realli contribute something to the company. Tata.. time to zz. Oh did I mention there is gg to be a company dinner or smthing liddat next wk? More eating. *groans*

Besides all the eating, I also brought my mum to have buffet at Sakura last Thur. It is a 4-in-1 celebrationg. Mother's Day, Father's Bdae, Mother's Bdae (All in May) and also Father's Day. Whaha... the food was ok la... but Shangri-La's The Line is still better. Of course it is cheaper than The Line la. Sakura's Dinner is $26 and lunch is $22. And this morning, my grandma, mum, sis and I went to Fortunate Restaurant at Toa Payoh for dim sum. The food was so-so only la... a few were nice but the rest is ok.. normal. It came up to aroung $60+ for 4 of us...
