Younger Sis (YS): "I've a secret to tell you during your next birthday. It is suppose to be your bdae present"
Me: "Huh? Wad secret? Tell me leh.."
YS: "Its a secret lah... muz wait"
Me: "Ai yah.. tell me what is it roughly about lah.."
YS: "LOVE"
Me: (slightly stunned) "Wad abt love? You got bf ah?"
YS: "Erm.. Ya, got 3 boy like me"
Me: (more stunned) "Huh! You sure? How do you know?"
YS: "They tell me mah.. Got 1 is malay. He is short. I dun like him" (No racism intended)
Me: (trying to suppress my laughter) "Aiyo u huh! Den?"
YS: "Another one hor.. take the same bus as me everyday. I ususally sit at the outer seat and reserve the seat inside for my friend. Then got one day he walk past me in the bus and then take my hand n kiss. He chase me for a year already. This year different class"
Me: (VERY shocked) "HUH! Alamak! Den he got kiss you on your face or lips not?!"
YS: "No la.. never. From that day onwards, I sit in the inside seat and hide my hand ."
Me: (finding tis very funny but trying to be serious) "Cannot anyhow let people kiss you or touch you ok! Muz remember hor. If he kiss you again must tell me hor."
YS: (nods her head) "Den got another one I don't like. I 'shuai diao' (jilted) him already. He is the sporty kind I don't like. I like the active kind."
Me: (rather confused) "Active & Sporty not the same kind meh?"
YS: "No." --My sis interpretation of sporty kind means he is active when he is suppose to be listening in class and he is reading during break time. Funny person rite? I mean the guy hor, not my sis. lolz
I start to get into a state of shock when my sis say her secret is abt Love. Then the shock level increased when she say there is 3 boy interested in her. I start to hyperventilate when she say got one boy kiss her hand! MY GOODNESS!!
Is this the kind of conversation I am suppose to have with a 8 year old? Is this the kind of things that happen between primary 2 kids? What is this!!? Has our society move so fast that children as young as 8 years old.. mind you it is EIGHT years old start the game of boyfriend-girlfriend? I used to be quite amused when people say they have boyfriend/girlfriend around primary 5 or 6. At tat age you know what is love meh? I am even more SHOCKED to hear this from my 8 year old sister!
