Yesterday I had my last tutorial for this semster. My tutor ended the class with some words which really sums up what the whole class has been feeling (maybe only me). He started by show us a graph. An summary of what he said:
"I am sure that the whole class, if not most, came into uni as As & Bs students. There is no doubt that you are the better ones among your cohort as only approx. 40% are able to get into uni every year. However after you are here, not many will be able to retain the As & Bs. You will slip to Cs and Ds grade. Don't be disappointed. The reason is not because you are not good, but because there are others who will aways be better than you. Look left, right, front and back and you'll see someone better than you. Competition is just getting stiffer. "
I agreed with what he said. Grab someone and ask which jc they are from and 80% of the time you get those top shools like HCJC, NJC etc. They are good. Besides them, there are the foreign students, some as young as 15, 16, 17 yrs old. They are the even better ones! To date, I've yet got get better than a 'C' grade for my assignments and class tests. I dare not think of the kind of grades I will see for my final exams.
