Friends. Who are our friends? How many friends do we have? The term 'friends' has been used quite loosely but if we were to take a minute to think, are all thar we've classified as friends really friends? Or are they those who doesn't fit into the acquaintence nor the really friends category? We may refer to them as our friends but deep down in our heart do we really take all of them as friends? Or only a handful of them are?
Do a quick run through of the contact numbers in your handphone and friendster account. I am sure there must be at least 50 names, and for some 100s of names and maybe even 200s. Are they really your firneds? When is the last time you've spoken to them / meet up with them / just send an sms to them? Have you even drop them an email? When you are bored / when you are down / when you are happy, how many of them can you ring up for a chat? Have you ever run through all the numbers and ended up not calling anyone? Why? Because we are not so close to them? Because we do not know if they are interested to listen to us? Because we do not know what to say? So can we still take them as friends if we have these doubts?
How many of us are guily of mass fwding sms without thinking if we really meant what the msg conveys? I always think through the content before I send anyone a fwd sms. There is no point saying things like ' I really treasure our friendship', I will always lend a listening ear' etc if you don't really mean it. Sometimes action speaks louder than words, so I am sure there are also friends who don't say much but prove alot just by their actions. Sometimes I wonder if those who sent me fwd sms meant what the sms says. If yes, I thank you for your thoughtfulness and sincerity.
Why do we term somebody as our friends and not another person?
